After graduation in "women’s studies" at Istanbul University his musical career started in 1986 with his first band Mirage. Teoman performed for 10 years with various bands until his breakthrough "Ne Ekmek Ne de Su" (Bread nor Water).
It earned him first prize at the Roxy Music Awards.

Teoman has also starred in various Turkish movies. Furthermore he regularly makes headlines due to his eccentricity and his bold statements.
