Esra Dalfidan

On Sunday 4 February 2007 the singer Esra Dalfidan won the seventh Jazz Vocalisten Concours at the packed Odeon theatre in Zwolle.
She gained the acclaim of both the audience and the jury for her Oriental sound and her original repertoire.
From the jury report: “Esra has an authentic sound. By her Oriental intonation and veiled sound Dalfidan distinguishes herself from all the other promising singers.”
Earlier, Amanday Kuyper wrote in NRC Handelsblad: “Sometimes Dalfidan sounds melancholy and yearning, at other times high-spirited and excited.”
Spring 2007 will see the release of the debut CD by Esra Dalfidan’s band Fidan. Besides Esra Dalfidan this group consists of Franz von Chossy (piano), Tobias Klein (bass clarinet), Sean Fasciani (double bass) and Uli Genenger (drums).
