Workshop Turkish traditional and contemporary music

Turkish traditional music is central in this workshop. Experienced singers and musicians from all musical backgrounds can participate.
You will receive an extensive introduction to the features of Ottoman music and will learn how to apply them to your own singing and performance. Teacher Selim Dogru is a composer who is adept at a diverse variety of styles. He will work with participants on a new composition, which is based on traditional Turkish music. This new composition will be performed during the closing presentation on Saturday 6 June. Due to the intensive nature of the workshop, it involves a number of study days prior to the festival.
